I love the design of the restaurant where you can decide how much of each ingredient you would like. They have a variety of meats, vegetables, noodles, and seafood. I always opt for the meats and vegetables, and they are usually fresh. Sometimes it can get a little messy if people do not place the tongs in the right area. There is a sauce bar as well, kind of limited though. They have a nice drink selection. The only thing I will say about this place is that they offer different spice levels, and I always opt for mild or medium, and it's just not very consistent. Sometimes I'll order mild and it would be super spicy and vice versa. We also are asked to pay after we eat, which I guess works. Service is fast, they bring the food directly to you.

Recommend Diy your own ingredients. They weigh it by the pound. I always get tomato broth, medium spicy- add scallion, cilantro, garlic and their hotoil myself from the sauce bar Con: the floor is always wet so watch out!

Food is one of the best, especially the Malatang, the Soup version, if you LOVE spicy like me, definitely ask for the extra spicy. Servers are extremely nice. Price? Reasonable.

The menu was simple to follow. There were bowls with set prices and pre-selected ingredients. However, I decided to build my own bowl and have it weighed. Today, I chose the dry hotpot and medium spice level. For the ingredients, there's a variety and you are allowed to put in as much as you want into your bowl. However, keep in mind it is charged by weight and can add up. Portions are pretty big. The whole process was fast and simple!

THE FOOD AND THE SERVICE? Best! - I've been here many times, I think it should say if this place is good or not. - Food is one of the best, especially the Malatang, the Soup version, if you LOVE spicy like me, definitely ask for the extra spicy. - Servers are nice, at least to me? - Price? Very reasonable, and could be considered as cheap if you go as a group of 2-3 and just do one big bowl to eat together, Once I paid $40 for 3 people. Overall, definitely must try. PS. Pics taken are not just from one visit!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. My friend and I just stumbled across it when we were walking around in Chinatown, and it was soooo good. I was not expecting to love it as much as I did. We opted to choose our own toppings, and they had a really great selection of items! Everything in the self serve station and restaurant was clean as well, which is obviously a plus. I will note, there's a 1lb minimum when you are choosing your own ingredients. This is not a huge deal, since I had enough to bring home and save for another meal. Our bowls were both a little over 1lb, and the total was less than $50, including tax and tip, which is super reasonable. The sauce bar was the perfect way to add some personal flavor to the soup. The soup was a bit creamy, and just so perfect. There are two "rooms" in the restaurant, and we sat towards the back near the cash register. The front portion of the restaurant definitely looks a bit cuter, but I really didn't mind. Service was good too-- everyone was very attentive and nice. 10/10, I will be back!!

A mala/hot pot spot! Finally a decent mala spot in Chinatown. Always have to go to flushing to get mala so knowing a spot like this exists in Chinatown is refreshing. Food is pretty standard, you pick what you want and they can make it for you dry or wet. The good thing about this spot compared to others is that you pick how much of each food you want YOURSELF! You get a pair of tongs and you can grab as little or as much as you want. They also have a sauce station mainly for the hotpot-ers but you can get even if you choose dry! The cons are that they charge the same per pound whether it's veggies or meat. Quick service and server was kind and patient. A nice shop to come chill and talk with family or friends! Highly recommend and would stop by again for sure!

Imagine dry hotpot from Flushing except DIY so you can pick exactly what you want and how much of it. It is a bit pricier than Flushing but I think being able to DIY is worth more. There's lots of variety and you can choose dry or soup when you get to the cashier. You can make your own dipping sauce too which is nice. They accept credit card as well.

I honestly absolutely loved this spot. My biggest complaint with dry pot spots like Mala Project is that in the past few years, they're really upped their prices without giving you a lot of food. Here, you pay by the pound, and you can pick exactly what items you want to eat at what ratio you want to eat them at. I can load my dry pot exactly how I like - with lots of fatty beef with some vegetables thrown in - and it comes out much cheaper than you would get at other comparable places. You weigh it back, and they stir fry it dry pot style for you. The only thing to note that it's fairly spicy for those that aren't super into spice! The service is really non existent since it's a DIY place, but that's the overall vibe of the restaurant. Don't go in expecting a really nice/fancy place, but expect great food out of it.
